Why Join ASA?

ASA offers you so much for its modest dues:

• A voice of advocacy in Alabama energy matters
• Networking opportunities with other renewable energy advocates
• Monthly ideas with ideas on how to make a difference
• Quarterly meetings to learn how to make renewable energy work for you
• Free Professional Development Hours for registered Professional Engineers (PEs)

Why Join ASES?

A state chapter gives the solar industry a local voice and educates children and families and local businesses and governments about renewable energy—especially solar—and energy efficiency. Your support of the American Solar Energy Society gives solar a national voice. ASES produces national studies and travels to Washington, D.C., to announce the studies to our elected representatives.

Why Join Both?

Joining both our state and national organizations at the Professional level supports a network of technical affiliations across the country. Technical divisions of ASES are open to individual members. Members can stand together in advocating solar technology to a multitude of potential target industries.

An individual can easily slip into the mindset that one's voice does not carry the renewable energy message very far. However, ASA and ASES offer strength in numbers in transmitting that ever-important message to larger and more distant audiences. The renewable energy community is vibrant, vocal, and willing to stand up to be counted. The National Solar Tour is a terrific demonstration of this spirit.

How to Join ASA

NOTE: Welcome to our new, simplified method of joining ASA, renewing/upgrading annual membership, and making general donations.

From the buttons below, choose a Membership Type—Regular, Professional, or Friend of Solar—or make a Donation. If choosing one of the pay options, you'll be taken to PayPal to complete your transaction. You can use an existing PayPal account, create a new account on-the-fly, or complete your transaction using a credit/debit card without creating a PayPal account.

The information you provide during the payment process will be forwarded to ASA's Treasurer and Membership Director who will enter your name and contact information into the ASA Membership Directory. Your information is kept confidential and used internally only. It will never be shared with anyone.

How to Join ASES

1. Begin by browsing to the ASES website at http://www.ases.org.


2. At the right end of the navigation menu near the top of the page, click JOIN US.


3. Near the top of the page, click Join Now.


4. On the Member Contact Information page, fill in all the required fields appropriately and click Select Membership.


5. On the ASES Memberships page, select a Membership Type. Click Continue.


6. On the ASES Chapter and ISES Memberships page, select a membership level in the lower pull-down selection box. Click Proceed to Checkout.


7. On the Shopping Cart page, you may add an additional membership, remove an unwanted membership, and/or make a donation to ASES. When your order appears as desired, click Proceed to Payment.


8. On the next page, you'll be presented with a confirmation of your transaction. This is your receipt for payment. Please save an electronic copy of your receipt in a safe place, or—if you must—print a paper copy. You are now logged in to your account and may browse your account with the menu items on the left side of the screen.
